Hello to the new members of hathor birth havon.
Please introduce yourselves and make yourselves at home.
You have entered a new space, so there is no reason to be shy we are all pretty much as new as each other.
this forum will blossom and grow and will hopefully be a space you enjoy visiting time and time again.
I am Liz, and a mum of 4 beautiful people.
Just got linked here from elsewhere and I must admit it looks great. I love your philosophies and feel that this could become an internet home from home for me. Having difficulty finding a forum that agrees with my personal beliefs and ethics but this forum looks like it might be just the place I was looking for.
I'm also a midwife so birthing and motherhood is a very special interest of mine.
No, I'm not an IM, although I'd like to be one.
Been in mid for about 14 years, but so sick of the increasing interventions around childbirth so I'm taking a break for a while, well in fact I've actually resigned because of that, so just looking around at my options at the moment. I do miss it....a lot, but the ethical and moral conflict was unbearable.
That's such a brave thing to do. I can totally understand the conflict, but even so, such a huge change in your life after 14 years is a major step.
I have set up a special froum for Midwives, doulas and other birth support workers.
It will be opening once the member list increases, so keep an eye open for it
Yes I noticed that...hopefully it will see some use very soon.
So the forum has been up since March by the looks of things.
I only just came across a link for it elsewhere tonight, and it sounded like my cup of tea so here I am!
Thanks for making me feel so welcome. I haven't had to much experience of that on internet forums. The mainstreamer forums tend to not agree with my point of view and the couple of non - mainstream forums around birthing are a little to harsh and controlling to feel comfortable in IYKWIM.
Anyway glad to be here and I really hope the membership grows very quickly.
Yes the forum was set up in March, but we held off advertising the forum till today because of some personal stuff taking much of our time.
We set up the forum for the reasons you joined we are hoping to find a happy medium here.
